*Thank you all for your patience! I have been super busy lately so updates have been taking longer and I'm sorry! Also, another big thank you to the Admin Team for making my fic this month's "Spotlight"! I feel so honoured! :-/*
Chapter 16: In Her Eyes Rating: R
Ethan heard Theresa’s words but couldn’t seem to understand them. He had tried for so many months to convince Theresa that her relationship with Fox wasn’t good for her and that it wouldn’t last but now she had finally realized it. Ethan couldn’t help but feel happy even though the woman he loved was standing in his arms weeping. He felt Theresa’s arms fall away from his and saw her pull out of his embrace and wipe away the tears on her face.
Ethan said nothing but instead walked over to Jane and picked her up and walked over to the phone in the solarium.
“Phyllis? Hey it’s Ethan. Could you please come to the solarium and take Jane to get changed. I’m going to take her to the park and so I think she needs to get her play clothes so she doesn’t ruin any of her good ones. Thanks Phyllis.” Ethan said, hanging up the phone.
“Park?” Jane said, looking up at Ethan with the same happiness in her eyes that her mother always had.
“Yes, park.” Ethan said laughing at the intelligence of his daughter. Ethan saw Jane look over at Theresa who still had her back to both of them trying to compose herself.
“Mama, park?” Jane directed the question at Theresa who heard her daughter and turned around with a big smile on her face.
“I don’t know, baby.” Theresa said walking over to Jane and caressing her cheek, “You’re going with daddy though, and that will be fun right?”
Jane giggled at her mother as Theresa poked at her stomach. Both of them were smiling and Ethan saw all the sadness in Theresa’s eyes melt away when she looked at their daughter.
The three of them stood there, practically bursting with happiness when suddenly the door to the solarium opened and Phyllis walked in.
“Hey, Phyllis!” Theresa said as soon as she saw her walk in the room.
“Hello Ms. Lopez--” Phyllis stopped herself, “Theresa, Mr. Winthrop.” she finished looking at both of them.
Ethan watched Theresa smile at her as Phyllis took Jane from his arms and tickled her sides before turning around and walking out the door. Ethan’s gaze followed her until he saw she was gone and then his eyes shot over to Theresa. He saw her turn away from him and he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her again.
“Ethan--don’t.” Theresa said, breaking away from him.
“Why are you pulling away from me?” Ethan asked, approaching her again and slowly running his hands across the exposed skin of her shoulders. Theresa raised her one hand and rested it on top of his. She inhaled slightly and turned around.
“You know why I’m pulling away from you Ethan” Theresa said, staring into his eyes, “We can’t keep doing this. You have a wife and it won’t be long until I have a husband.”
“What are you talking about?” Ethan said, feeling the anger building up in his chest. “Not even ten minutes ago you said you couldn’t marry Fox.”
“I didn’t say that.” Theresa said turning away from him again.
“Yes you did!” Ethan said walking around her until he was in front of her, “You said you didn’t think you could marry Fox and you were right. You can’t marry him, Theresa.”
“And who’s going to stop me?” Theresa said, staring back at him, waiting for his answer—an answer he didn’t have.
The room was silent; the air all around them drooped with doubt and regret. Neither one of them could break their gaze, just as neither one of them could hide their very apparent feelings for each other.
In her eyes, Ethan saw everything he had ever wanted in the world. He saw himself as he wanted to be; holding Theresa in his arms as they watched Little Ethan play baseball while Jane sat in the grass at the park playing with her dolls.
He saw family dinners, sitting around the table and laughing together, tucking the kids in at night and reading them both stories until their small eyes shut; in her he saw his family, his home.
Before he knew what he was doing, his body was pressed against Theresa’s and his lips had captured hers. He ran his hands up her back and into her mess of long, brown hair and pulled their kiss deeper.
“Theresa” he breathed into her mouth as he felt goose bumps rise on her arms. He felt her lips travel down to his neck and squeeze little bites along the sensitive area of his nape. He felt his body tighten with anticipation and he pulled her face up to his again kissed along her cheek until his lips met hers again.
Theresa pulled away slightly, then grabbed Ethan’s tie and pulled him behind the changing curtain. She turned around and peeked over the one side of her shoulder, raising her eyebrow suggestively, beckoning Ethan to unzip her from her wedding dress.
Ethan did as he was asked and slowly unzipped her dress and watched it fall to her feet and a pool of fabric. There she stood before him; naked, exposed, the embodiment of perfection.
Theresa twirled around slowly, looking back at Ethan as she felt his gaze burning a hole through her. She stepped forward and pulled off Ethan’s tie and leisurely began unbuttoning his shirt as she trailed kisses along his chest and stomach. Ethan felt her pull the shirt off of his arms and begin to unbuckle his belt. As his pants dropped to his feet, he stepped out of them and strode his body right into Theresa’s, their skin hot with desire.
They stood for a few moments, simply breathing in each other’s arms. Holding each other, feeling their skin interlock, both of their hearts began to pound in unison. They breathed in each other scents, slowly and deliberately, savoring every moment they got to be together, touching one another; feeling the sense of completeness in each other’s arms that no other person in the world could give either one of them
Ethan opened his eyes and looked down at Theresa who was smiling contently in his arms. He leaned down and kissed her, sweetly at first, but soon their mouths parted and the kiss intensified. As he felt Theresa get on her tip toes and wrap her arms around his neck he enveloped her small body by putting his arms around her waist and pulling her into him. He pushed her body against the solarium wall and kissed along her shoulder.
“Ohh Ethan…” Theresa whispered and she dug her fingers into the muscles along his back.
Just as both of them began caving in to one another, a voice stopped them both dead in their tracks.
“Theresa?” Ethan heard Fox call from the other side of the changing curtain, just footsteps away from seeing his fiancée in the arms of another man.

*Sorry for the delay in updates... my life has been a freakin' tornado as of lately! Ahhh! Anyways, I hope you enjoy!*
Chapter 17
“Theresa are you in here?”
Theresa and Ethan both stood in each other’s arms, silent and frozen, neither of them knowing what to say or do. They both stared at the changing curtain as it hung before them; the thin piece of fabric being the only thing that was keeping them from being exposed. Theresa looked into Ethan’s eyes and gave him a small nod as if she had a plan. She kissed the tip of his nose silently and slowly peeled her body off of his.
“Theresa?” Fox beckoned again, this time his voice sounded much closer to them then it had before.
“Yes, Fox?” Theresa replied calmly even though her heart was racing as she and Ethan stood completely naked only a few feet away from her fiancée and his half-brother.
“What are you doing back there?” Fox asked as Theresa heard his footsteps getting closer and closer to her.
“Don’t come any closer!” Theresa yelled before she could stop herself. There was a long pause before Fox spoke again.
“What do you mean?” Fox asked, “Why can’t I come back there?”
Theresa glanced to Ethan who stood in the exact same spot against the wall that he had been in since Fox had first come in. He had a slight grin on his face which annoyed Theresa more then anything, but also made him very irresistible. She shot him an angry look before she continued.
“Because I’m in my wedding dress you idiot!” Theresa said, faking a scoff at his stupidity and then letting out a small laugh. When she heard Fox laugh from the other side she knew that he believed her and she had just about dodged another bullet.
“Well…” Fox said trying to make his voice as sexy as possible, “I’m sure I could find a way to get you out of that dress.”
“Fox!” Theresa shrieked “You can’t see the dress before the wedding, you know that.”
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t see what’s underneath” he said slyly as Theresa looked over at the curtain and saw one side being lifted up.
“Fox no!” Theresa said, running over and pulling the curtain back to the side before he had seen anything, “Let me just unzip the dress and I will come right out, okay? I really don’t want you to see the dress, it will spoil the surprise.”
“Fine,” Fox sighed, “I guess I will wait to see.”
“Thank you,” Theresa said inhaling deeply and closing her eyes.
“But” Fox continued, “I wouldn’t mind having a peek at what’s under the dress.”
Theresa laughed as she opened her eyes again and they immediately met with Ethan’s who was still standing still, rolling his eyes at his brother’s comment. She gave him a stern look again and he threw his hands up in defeat. Theresa grabbed the robe that was in the changing room and put it on. She turned to open the changing room curtain but then quickly spun around and went over to Ethan. She pressed her hands against his chest and raised her lips to his ear.
“Don't more a muscle,” she said so silently she wasn’t even sure if Ethan had heard her. She pulled her body away and saw him nod right before she opened the changing curtain again and stepped out; careful to make sure she closed the curtain all the way behind her.
“A robe?” Fox said pulling Theresa into his arms, “Now why would you cover your gorgeous body with something like this?”
Theresa smiled and looked up at Fox even though she could practically hear Ethan’s eyes rolling from behind the changing curtain.
“There are other people in the house besides us, Fox.” Theresa replied, “And I’m sure they all appreciate it when I wear clothing.”
“Then they are fools,” Fox said as he leaned down and kissed Theresa. His breath tasted like cinnamon and his lips were soft against hers. He intensified the kiss as Theresa felt his hands wander up her back and felt him pull her closer to him.
“Mr. Winthrop I got Jane---Oh my goodness” Theresa heard Phyllis behind her and pulled out of Fox’s embrace.
“Sorry, Phyllis,” Theresa said apologetically, “I can’t control him sometimes!” she joked.
“It’s fine, Theresa.” Phyllis replied as she put Jane down and held onto her hand, “I just brought down Jane for Mr. Winthrop as he requested.”
Theresa froze. She felt Fox’s stare on her as she searched for some way to explain the situation. No words were coming. For once in her life Theresa was speechless and it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
“Mr. Winthrop?” Fox said puzzled, “Why would you be in here looking for Ethan?” he directed the question to Phyllis.
“He was in here with Ms. Lopez-Fitzgerald and Jane when he asked me to take Jane up to get into her play clothes because he was going to take her to the park” Phyllis replied.
“I see,” Fox said as Theresa stood in silence, “Where is he now?” he said, clearly directing the question towards Theresa.
“I thought he was here.” Phyllis said.
“I was asking Theresa, Phyllis.” Fox said with a hint of anger hidden behind his voice. Theresa could feel the tension rising and knew she had to quickly think of an answer.
“Theresa?” Fox said, “I asked you a question. Where is Ethan now?”
Theresa paused before smiling and looking up at Fox. She then looked over at Phyllis with the same convincing smile on her face.
“Oh I’m so sorry, Phyllis. I completely forgot,” she lied, “After you took Jane up to get changed Ethan realized that he had left his cell phone at home and he went back to get it.”
“I see.” Phyllis replied half-heartedly. Theresa could tell she would need to be more convincing.
“He told me to call up to you and have you bring Jane to the living room in about twenty minutes but it completely slipped my mind!” Theresa said as she leaned into Fox’s body and begged Phyllis to believe her with her gaze. Theresa saw as Phyllis nodded and she knew she was in the clear.
“Alright, Ms. Lopez-Fitzgerald,” Phyllis replied, “I will take Jane to the living room to wait for Mr. Winthrop there.”
“Thank you, Phyllis.” Theresa replied.
“I’m sorry for interrupting you two,” Phyllis said as she began to leave the room.
“It’s not a problem, Phyllis.” Theresa called after her, “And thank you again.”
Phyllis spun around and looked at Theresa knowingly, “No problem, Ms.” She said before she took a few steps and was gone. Theresa looked up at Fox who still had a worried look on his face.
“Ethan was here.” Fox said solemnly.
“He was.” Theresa replied, “Why? What’s the matter?”
“Nothing,” Fox answered, “I guess since we have custody of Jane I’ll have to get used to him being around. I just can’t stand him Theresa.”
“Fox, look---” Theresa began.
“No, Theresa.” Fox interrupted, “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to hear you defend him again. What he did to you when he took custody of Jane from you was despicable and disgusting and I will never forgive him for that.”
“I know, Fox” Theresa said quietly.
“Do you?” Fox said, questioningly, “Because sometimes I feel like you still feel the need to protect him when you don’t. He left you, broke your heart and took away your child, Theresa. How you can even tolerate being around him is beyond me.”
Theresa closed her eyes and pictured Ethan standing behind the changing curtain, his eyes flaring up with anger and his fists clenched. All of what Fox was saying was true so Theresa couldn’t argue with him, but at the same time she could feel all the words that she wanted to say to defend Ethan choking the inside of her throat. She opened her eyes and looked up at Fox.
“Can we not talk about Ethan right now, Fox?” Theresa said as she sauntered over to him. “Actually, can we not talk at all?”
Theresa saw a smile build at the corners of Fox’s mouth and she wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him into a kiss. He pulled out of her embrace for a moment and looked into her eyes.
“Now let’s see what you’ve been hiding under that robe” Fox said sexily as Theresa felt him undo the rope that was holding her robe over her body. She felt the material fall off of her shoulders and fall to the floor before she could do anything to stop it.
Theresa felt Fox kiss her again and as much as she knew she shouldn’t be doing this with Ethan standing close by, she also knew that it was keeping Fox distracted which meant Ethan was less likely to be discovered. Theresa kissed Fox back and slowly pulled him over to the couch in the solarium.
Just as Fox had lowered his body on top of hers a loud sound rang through the solarium which made both of them stop what they were doing.
“Shit,” Ethan thought as he stood behind the changing curtain, “My cell phone.”

Chapter 18: Nobody to Blame Rating: PG-13
Theresa felt Fox’s body tense up on top of her as he pulled himself off of her. She immediately stood up from the couch as the ringing continued throughout the solarium.
“What is that ringing?” Fox asked her as he looked around to see where it was coming from.
“I have no idea.” Theresa lied. She knew exactly what was ringing--- Ethan’s cell phone. She also knew exactly where it was, in his pants pocket behind the changing curtain where he also stood completely naked.
“Don’t give me that, Theresa.” Fox lashed out at her, “That’s someone’s cell phone and we both know whose it is.”
“What are you talking about Fox?” Theresa said as she grabbed her robe off the ground and covered herself.
“You know damn well what I’m talking about Theresa!” Fox yelled, “That is Ethan’s phone ringing and don’t try and deny it!”
Theresa shrank back at the sound of Fox’s raised voice. She knew that they had been caught, but still she had to fight it. She wouldn’t lose Fox just because she couldn’t control herself around Ethan; she couldn’t be alone again because she couldn’t control her feelings for a married man.
“Fox, I have no idea what you are suggesting,” Theresa said calmly, “But if it has anything to do with Ethan being here earlier then you should stop now before you imply something you will regret.”
“That’s the problem, Theresa,” Fox continued, “I don’t even have to imply it.”
“What are you saying?” Theresa asked.
“I’m saying we both know that Ethan was here,” Fox said staring Theresa down, “and we both know exactly what you were doing!”
“Fox!” Theresa yelled at him, “How dare you suggest that I would do something like that to you.”
“You aren’t denying it.” Fox said coldly.
“I shouldn’t have to.” Theresa said bitterly before pausing and looking at Fox who stood staring at her with such a look of fury in his eyes that it scared her. “You know he was here earlier to pick up Jane, I already told you that.”
“Yeah, to pick up Jane,” Fox laughed, “That’s a convenient excuse, wouldn’t you say Theresa?”
“No, I wouldn’t actually.” Theresa lied, “We agreed that since she is his daughter he would be able to see her anytime he wanted.”
“Or see you anytime he wanted,” Fox spat back.
“How could you---” Theresa began but was immediately interrupted by another ring. “Damnit, where is that coming from?” Fox shouted.
“Fox, it doesn’t matter.” Theresa said, grabbing his arm, “Let’s just go up to our room so I can get changed and we can finish our discussion.”
Theresa held his arm as Fox paused and looked at her, moving his head towards the direction of the ringing.
“It’s coming from behind the changing curtain, isn’t it?” Fox said, looking down at her.
“What is?” Theresa asked, already knowing the answer but still trying to look innocent and play dumb.
“Ethan’s phone ringing.” Fox answered, “It’s coming from behind the changing curtain which can only mean one thing.”
“Fox no---” Theresa started.
“That’s why you didn’t want me going back there, isn’t it?” Fox asked her.
“No, it’s not like that…” Theresa answered.
“Why are you lying to me, Theresa?” Fox screamed, “He’s back there isn’t he? He’s been back there the whole time and you’ve been standing here and deceiving me this whole time, haven’t you?”
“I wouldn’t do that to you.” Theresa pleaded with him.
“I’m not so sure about that.” Fox said, ripping his arm out of Theresa’s and rushing over to the changing curtain.
“Wait, Fox, don’t go back there!” Theresa begged.
“Why the hell shouldn’t I?” Fox roared, “I’ve already figured out your little game so why shouldn’t I go back there?”
“Fox, please. You don’t understand.” Theresa pleaded.
“No, I understand. I understand completely.” Fox said furiously, “I understand that you are a lying, two-faced manipulator and I can’t believe I ever trusted you.”
Theresa felt the tears well up in her eyes as she heard the hatred behind Fox’s voice. She closed her eyes and tried to process what was about to happen but she couldn’t. Fox was going to open that curtain and all the months she had spent with him trying to get over Ethan were going to be a waste. She was going to be alone again and it was nobody’s fault but her own. Theresa opened her eyes and saw Fox still staring at her.
“Fox, please, don’t go back there.” Theresa said softly.
“It’s too late, Theresa,” Fox said turning away from her, “There’s no going back now,” he said reaching for the curtain.
“Fox, NO!” Theresa bellowed, but it was too late.
“Oh my God.” Fox practically whispered, as he stood awestruck and perfectly still with the curtain open in front of him.
And just like that, Theresa felt her whole world come crashing down around her.

Chapter 19: Blackness Rating: R
“Fox, let me explain,” Ethan said, stepping out from behind the curtain with no shirt on as he zipped up his pants. Theresa watched him stand for a moment and look at Fox who had his fists clenched by his sides.
“Explain?” Fox yelled at Ethan, “How could you possibly explain this, Ethan?”
“It’s not what you think” Ethan said, stepping away from Fox slightly and glancing over at Theresa who now just stood perfectly still; completely afraid that if she moved everything around her would all fall apart.
“It’s exactly what I think, Ethan!” Fox yelled walking towards Theresa quickly. It made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She had never been afraid of Fox; she knew he had a temper but it had never been directed at her but now that it was she couldn’t help but feel her body begin to shake slightly in fear “You and my fiancée were having a little fun in the change room weren’t you?”
“Fox, please, you don’t understand---” Theresa began as she felt Fox put his hands on her shoulders and face Ethan again.
“Stop saying that, dear.” Fox said, tightening his grip on Theresa shoulders which caused her to wince at the pain, “I understand exactly what’s going on here. I just wish I’d listened to my mother when she warned me about what a little slut you were.”
“Fox!” Theresa cried out as he dug his nails into her shoulders deeper and deeper causing pain to course through her upper body.
“What's wrong?" Fox asked "Can you only take a beating in the bedroom like the cheap whore that you are?” Fox said as he gritted teeth and lowered his face to the side of Theresa’s.
“Get away from her!” Ethan shouted from across the room.
“Sorry Ethan, that’s my line.” Fox said, somewhat loosening his grip on Theresa and staring his brother down.
“I mean it, Fox.” Ethan said walking towards them, “You’re scaring her.”
Theresa stood between Ethan and Fox, her body completely tense and her lungs only allowing her to take short, sharp breaths. She felt tears welling up in her eyes as she watched Ethan stare down Fox. His eyes broke with Fox’s for only a moment as he glanced down at her with a reassuring, protective look. She let her body relax slightly despite the fact that Fox still had a rigid grip on her shoulders.
“She isn’t the one who should be scared, Ethan,” Fox said, slightly pausing for a moment “You should.”
“Let her go.” Ethan said sternly, “I won’t tell you again.”
“Is that a threat, big brother?” Fox laughed.
“I’m serious Fox.”
“I’m serious too,” Fox said clenching his hands into Theresa’s shoulders harder then he ever had before as she felt him toss her aside. Theresa fell to the ground and smacked the side of her head on the paved floor.
“Theresa!” Ethan called to her as he rushed to her side. Before he could get there Theresa saw Fox grab his arm and pull him away from her. Theresa held the side of her head and looked up just in time to see Fox’s fist connect with Ethan’s jaw.
“You son-of-a-bitch!” Fox screamed at Ethan as he slammed him into the rack that held all of the bridesmaid dresses and Theresa watched as all of them fell to the ground, “You have a wife, but you still can’t keep your hands off of my fiancée?”
“Fox, get the hell off of me!” Ethan yelled as he tried to pry Fox’s hands off of his shoulders, “Theresa’s hurt, if you care about her at all you’ll let me help her!”
“Help her?” Fox screamed “I’m sure you’ve helped her enough for one day, you bastard!” he said as he threw Ethan against the wall and his fist flew into his eye.
“Fox, she’s bleeding for Christ’s sake!” Ethan shouted as Theresa watched him try desperately to get Fox off of him.
Theresa lay on the ground, holding the side of her head with her hand. She looked down at her palm and saw it covered in blood. Her eyes darted over to the wall where Fox had Ethan pinned and was now pummeling his face with his fists. Theresa tried to get up but her head was spinning and she couldn’t quite see straight.
“Ethan…” Theresa murmured as her eyes slowly began to droop shut. She was fighting so hard to stay awake but she couldn’t do it anymore, the pain flowed through her body and made everything feel numb.
Theresa felt her eyes slowly begin to shut but before they did she managed to see Ethan punch Fox in the nose and throw him to the ground before he ran over to her side.
“Theresa, stay awake baby,” she heard him say as he placed his hand under her head.
“I’m sorry…” Theresa mumbled as she felt her eyelids fall further and further.
“No Theresa, open your eyes!” she heard his voice say frantically as her eyes shut completely and she felt her breath tighten in her chest.
“I’m so sorry….” was the last thing she managed to choke out before all she could see was black.
